ZIM vs IND: Clinical India outplay Zimbabwe, win third ODI by 13 runs to clinch series 3-0
ZIM vs IND: KL Rahul-led India outplayed Zimbabwe in all three areas of the game to win by 13 runs at the Harare Sports Club on Monday and wrap up the three-match ODI series 3-0.
Sikandar Raza’s vital 115-run performance was ineffective since Zimbabwe was unable to prevent India from completing a 3-0 sweep. Zimbabwe, which was attempting to reach a goal of 290, got off to a respectable start as openers Takudzwanashe Kaitano and Innocent Kaia attempted to play huge shots. However, the pair was unable to withstand Deepak Chahar’s excellent bowling, which resulted in Kaia’s dismissal for 6 runs.
When he went off the ground owing to an injury, Takudzwanashe Kaitano’s innings was cut short despite him being in excellent form and hammering Indian bowlers for big strokes. Tony Munyonga replaced him and arrived.
Sean Williams and Munyonga formed a crucial combination for their team as they increased their total past the 50-run threshold, Munyonga blasting two fours during Deepak Hooda’s spell.
The explosive combination was short-lived because Williams, who had already scored 45 runs, was struck by Axar Patel’s spell. Then Sikandar Raza arrived at the crease. Raza began his time on the field aggressively by smashing Indian bowlers all around the field.
After scoring 8 runs, Ryan Burl was then ordered by Kuldeep Yadav to return to the hut. As Raza attempted to establish a relationship to maintain the momentum in his team’s favour, Luke Jongwe teamed up with him. After scoring 14 runs in 13 deliveries, Jongwe teh was struck by Kuldeep Yadav’s spell.
That’s that from the final ODI.

In 61 deliveries when Men in Blue were pounding, Raza reached his fifty-first run. In the 39th over, Raza, who was in excellent form, hammered Shardul Thakur for 20 runs in six deliveries.
Together, Brad Evans and Raza scored fifty runs, advancing their team’s chances of winning. The equation was reduced to 64 runs needed in 42 balls after the 44th over.
In 88 deliveries, Raza went on to smash a century against India. Zimbabwe took a significant hit. Raza removed from the game by Shardul Thakur after 115 runs in 95 balls. Avesh Khan removed Victor Nyauchi in the final over, enabling India to defeat the hosts by 13 runs and win the three-match ODI series 3-0.
Earlier, Shubman Gill’s outstanding first hundred and Ishan Kishan’s half-century propelled India to 289/8 at the end of their 50 overs.
The Indian batters made the day particularly memorable by thrashing Zimbabwe all over the park, with Gill (130) and Kishan (50) in especially. There were little advantages for Zimbabwe other than the fact that they were able to keep India’s total below 300. Brad Evans (5/54) secured his first five-wicket haul and had all the major players in his pocket.
India made the decision to bat first and got off to a strong start. KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan, the opening pair, really rotated the strike, occasionally going huge. Dhawan was the more aggressive player of the two as he scored a four on a nice shot that crossed the fence. Rahul concentrated mostly on rotating his strikes and getting some game time.
India stood at 41/0 after 10 overs, with Dhawan (25*) and Rahul (12*) batting.
In the following 10 overs, Zimbabwe held a modest advantage over India because of India’s slow run-making. In 74 balls, the pair passed the fifty-run stand.
After Brad Evans’ delivery edged Rahul’s bat and went for a smash, destroying his stumps, the pair’s 63-run partnership broken. KL’s stay was only 45 balls and 30 runs long, with just one four and one six, so it wasn’t quite what he had hoped for.
The following batter to the crease was Shubman Gill. India stood at 77/1 after 20 overs, with Dhawan (39*) and Gill (4*) batting.
Despite keeping the scoreboard moving for some time, Gill and Dhawan’s stand only lasted 21 runs. Sean Williams made a diving catch of a leading edge off Dhawan’s bat, giving Evans his second wicket of the game. Dhawan returned to the hut following a 68-ball 40. The next player on the crease was Ishan Kishan.
India passed the 100-run threshold thanks to a magnificent drive by Kishan off the opening ball of the 25th over.
In 35 overs, Gill and Kishan hit the 150-run milestone after building on their 50-run partnership.
In 51 balls, Gill reached his fourth ODI half-century while appearing to be in excellent form. The pair mentioned their 100-run partnership in 99 balls as well.
Even after that, the pair continued to attack as they continued to score runs. Kishan needed 61 balls to reach his second half-century in ODIs.
For 50 off 61 balls, Ishan Kishan run out in the 43rd over. Evans, who made his third strike of the inning, also dispatched the new batter Deepak Hooda for one out of three balls. Gill needed 82 balls to reach his first 100.
The next player to the crease was Sanju Samson. Only 15 runs from 13 balls could scored before Luke Jongwe cleared him. Half of the side had been in the hut for 256 runs at this time.
Axar Patel was Gill’s subsequent partner, although he was able to continue just for a short time until being fired by Victor Nyauchi for just one.
After caught by Innocent Kaia at long-off, Evans took the wicket of Gill, who had struck a solid 130 from 97 balls.
When Nyuachi successfully caught Shardul Thakur at mid-off for 9, Evans claimed his sixth wicket of the day. India scored 289/8 after 50 overs thanks to Deepak Chahar (1*) and Kuldeep Yadav (2*). Brad Evans, who finished the day with a 5/54, was the top bowler for the hosts. Each of Jongwe and Nyauchi secured a wicket.
Brief Scores:
India 289/8 (Shubman Gill 130, Ishan Kishan 50, Brad Evans 5/54) against Zimbabwe 276 all out (Sikandar Raza 115, Sean Williams 45; Avesh Khan 3-66).
