T20 World Cup Qualifier B: USA beat Jersey by 8 wickets on Day 1
T20 World Cup Qualifier B: The USA defeated Jersey on Monday by an eight-wicket margin to win the opening match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier B.
The USA bowlers controlled the scoring rate in the first few overs, slowing down Jersey’s start. With a total of just 47, three wickets were lost in the first ten overs. Asa Tribe, Jersey’s third batter, was their lone combatant, and his ferocious hit helped the team reach a respectable total. Tribe hit up to seven boundaries over the rope by taking advantage of the poor balls and reached a fantastic half-century.
When Jersey posted 154/5 in their 20 overs, he was still unbeaten on 73 off 45. For the USA, Juan Theron and Nisarg Patel each claimed two wickets.
A Great Start!

The USA’s pursuit was, for the most part, an easy process. A modest target of 155 was insufficient to withstand their batting prowess. Steven Taylor and Aaron Jones put up an 88-run second-wicket stand despite losing their leader Monank Patel in the seventh over.
In the partnership, Taylor was the aggressor while Jones let go of the anchor at the other end. The USA needed just 25 runs to win when the second wicket finally fell in the 17th over.
With 11 balls remaining, they won by eight wickets with to Taylor’s undefeated 101.
