SCO vs NZ: New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner praised the hitters for their performance with the bat following his team’s crushing victory over Scotland in the second T20I.

“To get that many runs was special. Credit to guys for being aggressive from ball one. Different guys have stepped up at different time,” said the New Zealand captain in a post-match presentation.

“We have had guys coming in and going for it from ball one. Chapman is a quality player. Rippon did a pretty good job today,” he added.

The enormous 254 runs that New Zealand scored is a record-breaking total for them in T20Is.

Due to his outstanding performance with the bat, Mark Chapman was named man of the match after scoring 83 runs off just 44 balls. With 66 runs in 25 balls, Michael Bracewell gave the team a commendable performance.

After winning the toss, New Zealand decided to bat first.

All of Scotland’s bowlers were expensive, with Chris Greaves putting forth the best effort by grabbing a wicket and giving up 23 runs in his three overs of bowling.

All-rounder Chris Greaves once again put up the highest numbers for Scotland’s batting, scoring 37 runs off of 29 balls before being bowled out by Ish Sodhi in the 12th over. However, Scotland’s batting again struggled.

The rest of the host team’s performance was average, as they managed only score 152 runs in 20 overs.
