• Aryna Sabalenka has been on a terrific form as she hasn’t dropped a set in the tournament so far.
• She began the 2023 season by clinching the title at the Adelaide International 1.
• She is currently on a 11-match straight set winning streak and aim to clinch her career’s biggest win in the upcoming contest.
• Sabalenka made her way into the final after a 7-6, 6-2 win against Magda Linette in the semifinal
• Earlier, she began the tournament with victories in straight sets against Tereza Martincova and Shelby Rogers in the first two rounds.
• In the third round, she sailed past 26th seed Elise Mertens with a 6-2, 6-3 win. She also won 7-6, 6-2 against 12th seed Belinda Bencic.
• In the quarterfinal, she was up against unseeded Donna Vekic and breezed past her with a 6-3, 6-2 win.

• Elena Rybakina has made a statement following her victory in the Wimbledon last year.
• Her Wimbledon win didn’t help her much in improving her ranking as ranking points were stripped from the tournament last year.
• Being the 25th ranked player, she entered the Australian Open as the 22nd seed.
• Apart from her three-set win against Danielle Collins, she hasn’t dropped a set in the tournament.
• One of her biggest wins in the tournament is against Iga Swiatek. The 23-year old defeated the World No.1 in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
• In the quarterfinal she raced past 17th seed Jelena Ostapenko 6-2, 6-4 to enter her maiden Australian Open semifinal.
• She made it to the final after a 7-6, 6-3 win against Victoria Azarenka.

Sabalenka vs Rybakina Head-to-Head: Sabalenka has a 3-0 lead in the head-to-head record between both the players. Sabalenka last met Rybakina during the 2021 Wimbledon final. The Belarusian clinched a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 win. Rybakina is however a much improved player now andndnd also has the experience of playing in a Grand Slam final before. It will be a tough contest and a fitting finale.
