Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his fine form in the knockout stages with a stunning half-century on Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy Finals on Wednesday. Jaiswal with captain Prithvi Shaw put on a fine opening partnership worth 87. MP bowlers did have some assistance from the surface, but Shaw and Jaiswal dealt with it expertly. 

Shaw departed for 47 just before Lunch as MP clawed back into the contest. Jaiswal reached his fifty in the second session stitching partnerships with Armaan Jaffer, Suved Parkar and Sarfaraz Khan before being dismissed for 78. 

Sarfaraz and Hardik Tamore steadied the ship before Saransh Jain sent the keeper packing late in the day. Khan was joined by left-hander Mulani as they took Mumbai to 248/5 at Stumps on Day 1. For Madhya Pradesh, Saransh Jain and Anubhav Agarwal were the pick of the bowlers, scalping two wickets each.
