LLC 2022: Top knocks by Tanmay Srivastava, Yusuf Pathan help India Maharajas defeat World Giants by 6-wicket
LLC 2022: Tanmay Srivastava’s blistering knock of 54 runs followed by Yusuf Pathan‘s unbeaten 50 guided India Maharajas to a comfortable six-wicket win over World Giants in a special exhibition game of the Legends League Cricket 2022 here at the Eden Gardens on Friday.
India celebrated its 75th year of freedom during the inaugural game between the India Maharajas and the World Giants. Former players from India made up India Maharajas, while former players from other countries made up World Giants. India Maharajas were dealt a blow as they attempted to reach their 171 run goal when Virender Sehwag was struck out after only scoring 4 runs in 5 balls. Parthiv Patel also fell prey early in the innings as Tim Bresnan dismissed him on 18 runs.
The World Giants bowlers were then smashed all over the ground by Tanmay Srivastava, who was attempting to anchor a partnership with Yusuf Pathan.
In the game’s thirteenth over, Pathan slammed back-to-back two fours off the bowling of Fidel Edwards. The partnership of Srivastava and Pathan reached their fifty-stand for the fourth wicket while pummeling the bowlers all over the field. After that, Srivastava scored his crucial half-century in 35 balls.

Tanmay Srivastava was dismissed by World Giants in the 17th over of the innings. After hitting 54 runs in 39 balls, dealing a significant blow to the Maharajas.
Irfan Pathan then came to the crease. In 35 deliveries, Yusuf Pathan also reached his fifty-run milestone. Irfan Pathan won the match by six wickets by hitting back-to-back sixes.
When World Giants chose to bat first, Kevin O’Brien’s explosive innings of 52 runs in 31 balls helped them score 170/8 in 20 overs.
In the final over of the innings, Pankaj Singh bowled his first over and took three wickets. Romesh Kaluwitharana was out on the first ball, Tim Bresnan on the third. And Daniel Vettori on the fifth in this over.
Pankaj Singh has given India the fifth success. After scoring seven runs in seven balls, Tatenda Taibu went back to the pavilion.
While bowling the 16th over, Ashok Dinda was seen to be in a little discomfort. The final two balls of his over have been thrown by Mohammad Kaif. The first ball was hammered for a six, and the second ball featured an outstanding catch by Awana of Perera. Thisara Perera was out after 16 balls for 23 runs.
