IRE vs IND: Big opportunity for me, got rewarded for my hardwork, says Rahul Tripathi
IRE vs IND: Rahul Tripathi, a promising Maharashtra batsman, described his maiden India call-up as “a result of his great hardwork put in over the years.”
Over the course of six seasons, the 31-year-old right-handed hitter Tripathi has one of the most consistent uncapped IPL players, with his finest season coming in 2022, when he totaled 413 runs at a strike rate of 158.24 for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Tripathi, the son of an army officer, has been a steady performer in the IPL and for his home team Maharashtra.

“It is a very big opportunity, a dream come true (moment) and (I) appreciate (it),” Tripathi told PTI.
“I am very happy that the selectors and everybody believed in me. Also whatever hard-work I have put in, I have got the rewards. And hopefully, if I get an opportunity to play, I will try and also give my best,” added Tripathi. He has the distinction of twice hitting six sixes in an over in local tournaments.
Tripathi has 2,540 first-class runs from 47 matches for the elite Deccan Gymkhana club, which is one of Pune’s oldest. In domestic cricket, he has also captained Maharashtra.
