IPL 2022: Top ICC officials to arrive in India for Playoffs
IPL 2022: At the invitation of the BCCI, a couple of top officials from the International Cricket Council will observe the IPL playoffs in Kolkata and Ahmedabad this week, mostly to “discuss the ICC’s impending media rights” with their Indian counterparts.
“Greg Barclay, the ICC chairman, will attend the Qualifier 1 (May 24). Also Eliminator (May 25) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. While Geoff Allardice, the Chief Executive Officer of the ICC, will be present during the Qualifier 2 on May 27. And the final on May 29 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. They are likely to discuss the upcoming media rights of the ICC with the BCCI officials during their trip,” a source in the know of developments said as quoted by TNN.

For the 2023-27 cycle, the BCCI is in the process of selling its IPL media rights. In 2023, the existing ICC and BCCI media rights cycle of eight years. And also six years would come to an end.
The IPL playoffs are being held in India for the first time in three years, thanks to Covid.
