ENG vs IND: Cheteshwar Pujara ‘Ready for the next challenge’

ENG vs IND: Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara took to Instagram on Thursday to share a photo with his teammates before of the Test team’s departure to England for the rescheduled fifth Test in Birmingham.

Cheteshwar Pujara is returning to Test cricket following a stellar season in county cricket, while former Indian captain Virat Kohli and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja have both been recalled to the national team. In the photo, India’s star Test batter poses with teammates Shardul Thakur, former captain Virat Kohli, great all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, and Prasidh Krishna.

Pujara took to Instagram to share the post and captioned it: “Ready for the next challenge, UK bound”.

While Rishabh Pant leads India in a five-match T20I series against South Africa. Other players have left for England on June 16.

India will face England at Old Trafford on July 1 for the first time. The match is the fifth Test in India’s 2021 series in England, which they currently lead 2-1. After a Covid-19 outbreak in the Indian camp, the last Test was postponed at the last minute.

From July 1 to 5, the match will held in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The Test series is now 2-1 in India’s favour. Last year’s fifth Test match, scheduled for Old Trafford in Manchester cancelled. Due to COVID-19 instances among the Indian squad.
