Asia Cup 2022 to be held in UAE, confirms BCCI president Sourav Ganguly

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly announced on Thursday that the UAE would host the 2022 Asia Cup.

The Asia Cup 2022 will now take place in the UAE instead of Sri Lanka as originally planned because of the ongoing economic problems.

“Asia Cup will be held in the UAE, as it is the only place where there won’t be rain (in that duration),” Ganguly told reporters after the Board’s Apex Council meeting in Mumbai.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was informed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Wednesday. That the board will not be able to host the 2017 Asia Cup T20. Due to the country’s ongoing political and economic crisis.

The Asia Cup, which will be played in the T20 format, is scheduled to take place from August 27 to September 11.
