Asia Cup 2022, India vs Pakistan: The star of Pakistan’s victory batter Mohammad Rizwan in the ongoing Asia Cup win over Hong Kong, remarked that the team’s confidence is high and they are prepared to face any opponent.
Shadab Khan’s four-wicket haul and Mohammad Rizwan’s unbeaten 78 helped Pakistan defeat Hong Kong by a whopping 155 runs on Friday in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. With this victory, Pakistan secured a matchup with India for the Super Four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 on Sunday. With only 38 runs, Hong Kong was easily defeated.
None of the players from Hong Kong were able to reach double digits. Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan both took three wickets for Pakistan.
With a magnificent score of 78* from 57 deliveries, Mohammad Rizwan capsized Pakistan, who finished their 20 overs with a total of 193/2.

“What happens on the Sharjah pitch is that you can only score 60 or 55 in the powerplay. We have to assess the condition of the game first. We assessed the condition first and then play the game accordingly,” Rizwan said in a post-match press conference.
“It is in front of everyone that there is always pressure when its India and Pakistan clash. People all over the world wait for this clash. The match between India and Pakistan feels like a final match to everyone. I think we need to keep this match as normal as possible. Pakistan’s confidence is high, ready for any opponent,” he added.
Due to a knee injury, Shaheen Afridi was unable to play at the Asia Cup 2022. The home series against England, which begins on September 20, will also see him stay out. However, he will play again in the New Zealand Tri-Series in October, which will followed by the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia.
Talking about the team’s star pacer, he said, “No one can fill the place of Shaheen Afridi in our team. The way he has performed for Pakistan is great.”
